Masao used an unusual screenprinting technique to produce more than sixty bird prints during the late twentieth century. Instead of making the screen from mesh fabric he used porous paper. Inks of different colors were forced through a series of these paper screens to create an often complex, semi-abstract design. Ten examples of these designs are shown in this gallery.
